EX-ILAJE COUNCIL BOSS SEEKS ONDO GOVT INTERVENTION OVER FRESH CRISIS IN AYETORO

A former Chairman of Ilaje local government, Hon Tola Alabere has appealed to the Ondo state government to urgently wade into the crisis rocking Ayetoro community before it degenerates into a state of lawlessness.
Alabere in a chat with Orange FM accused one Prophet Oluwanmbe Ojagbohunmi of leading those he called religious fanatics who have been unleashing violence on those opposed his desire to take over the leadership of the community.
He alleged that Ojagbohumi’s followers attacked the town’s monarch, Oba Olaseni Ajijo, destroyed his palace and disrupted plans for the Founder’s which was to be used to honour one of it’s illustrious sons, Ganiyu Ojagbohunmi who just retired as clerk of the house of representatives.
Efforts to reach Mr Victor Akinluwa, the spokesperson for Prophet Ojagbohunmi, to get his reaction proved abortive at press time.
In his reaction, the Ondo State police spokesperson, Femi Joseph said crisis was caused by a fight between parties in the dispute over the town’s leadership succession following the demise of the late oba.
He said twenty five suspects from both sides have been arrested and dragged to court adding adequate personnel have also been drafted to the community to prevent further break down of law and other.
