There was an uproar yesterday 4th October, 2021 as people worldwide complained bitterly that they were unable to access social media platforms- Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Twitter.
Social media messaging service are gradually returning to normal after an hours-long global outage that disabled the Facebook-owned social media platforms for some six hours from 4:30pm.
Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, took to his Snapchat handle this evening to debunk claims in some quarters that the Federal government is behind the current crash of Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram.
In a post on rival platform Twitter on Monday evening, Facebook confirmed its apps were coming back online and apologised to users for a blackout that affected millions of people across the world.
On Tuesday morning, WhatsApp head William Cathcart also took to Twitter to announce that the service was “back up and running” but did not elaborate on what might have caused the problems.
