Diocese on the coast , Church of Nigeria , Anglican Communion has rounded off the 3rd session of the 9th Synod of the Diocese.

The Synod was hosted at St. Stephen’s Ang. Church, Odojomu, Igbotako.

The Synod session had started on Thursday, the 12th of May and it ended today with an elaborate Thanksgiving service which was graced by the Archbishop of Ondo Province and Bishop , Diocese of Akure , Most Revd. Simeon Oluwole Borokini. Other bishops who attended the service were the retired Bishop of Oke Osun, Rt Revd Akinlalu, Retired Bishop of Ilaje, Rt Revd Fredrick Idowu Olugbemi, the guest preacher and Bishop of Oke Osun , Rt Revd Oluwagbenro Fabuluje among other Memebers of the clergy of the Communion.

The Bishop of Okeosun Diocese in his sermon noted that God works in a mysterious ways and his wonders are unpredictable . He said he grew up as a son of a priest in the old Ikale Diocese and he is happy to note that the old diocese having giving birth to two other Dioceses , Diocese on the Coast where his father worked as a priest and where he grew up has developed in leaps and bounds. While thanking the host Bishop for granting the synod’s hosting to St. Stephen’s , Odojomo, Fabuluje maintained that the beauty of rotating synod is that it allows the growth of the church and the Communion.

On his remark on the theme of the Synod, Bishop Fabuluje stressed that pleasing God requires giving Him thanksgiving at all times.

while highlighting the benefits of thanksgiving as grateful christians, Rt. Revd Fabuluje said thanksfulness unlocks the fullness of life.

The House of Bishop and the Laity celebrated the end of the 9th Synod with praise songs and dance offering.

The Diocesan, Rt. Revd. Oluseyi Pirisola who appreciated God for the success of the important church event also thanked all the members of the Communion in the Diocese for their cooperation.
