Okitipupa LGA Distributes Relief Materials to Rainstorms Victims

Succour came yesterday to the victims of May 5, 2018 rainstorms in Ondo State has Okitipupa local government under the chairmanship of Hon. Mrs Morenike Alaka distributed relief materials to the affected victims.

The distribution which took place at the Okitipupa local government Secretariat was very transparent as the victims were given the materials openly.
The victims which cut across all the towns and villages in the local government notable among the communities were igbotako, ikoya , osoro, ilu – titun igbodigbo , omotosho among others.

Some of the items distributed include Galvanized roofing sheet, nails etc

In her brief address, the caretaker chairman, Mrs. Morenike Alaka sympathised with the victims and described the incidence has very devastating.

While handling over the relief materials to the victims, Mrs. Alaka said the government was very pained by the hardship the victims had passed through .

She lamented that the incidence was not just a rainstorms but an hurricane which was unprecedented in the history of the LGA has many houses were seriously affected even trees were not left behind.

She added that it was gratifying that no life was lost and the relief materials was a sort of compensation from the state government.

” When the state government heard about the incident, they sent a team to assess the level of damage with a view to Cushing the effects”

” So I want to sincerely appreciate the state Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu ( SAN) and his deputy , Hon. Agboola Ajayi for the prompt release of these materials” Alaka said

In her own reaction, one the victims Mrs. Iyabo Egbayelo expressed her delightfulness for the assistance done by the state government. Though she said it will be difficult to quantify the loss but the government need to be commended for the kind gestures.

Mrs. Egbayelo said she just lost her husband and not yet recover from the shock before the incidence now render her homeless.

She however called on the state government to rescue them completely from the disaster.
