The Bishop , Diocese on The Coast , Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Rt.Revd Oluseyi Pirisola has delivered his Bishop’s charge at the ongoing 3rd Session of the 9th Synod of the Diocese.

The Synod is being hosted at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church , Odojomo , Igbotako in Okitipupa Local Government.

In the two hour presentation of the Bishops charge, Rt . Revd. Pirisola traced the history of St. Stephen’s Odojomo saluting the courage and commitment of the heroes of faith who pooled resources together to establish the church.

Revd. who called on Christians to work towards pleasing God in their daily activities noted that Christianity is not a religion but a personal relationship with God Almighty.

The Bishop, Diocese on the coast called on Federal Government to wake up to its primary responsibility which is the provision of security for lives and property of Nigerians , stressing that the nation is facing security challenges that the Church of God cannot close its eyes to

While highlighting his stewardship as the Diocesan , the high ranking priest noted that ‘ at the feet of Jesus’ among other Diocesan programmes have been introduced to consolidate on the drive for Evangelism in the Diocese.

Bishop Pirisola who appreciated the commitment of Gov. Akeredolu to security in the state by establishing and funding Amotekun corps in Ondo State , however challenged the Gov. to weigh in on the electricity challenge that has put Okitipupa and its environ out of the national grid. He also noted that Okitipupa , nay Ondo South will become economically buoyant if this administration can stir back to existence the two major industries in Ikale land that have become moribund.

Major highlight of the Synod session was the praise worship songs, a drama stage by the priests of the Diocese , and the launching of church projects. Stakeholders at the event contributed handsomely to the launching . Among the launchers was. Prince ( Dr) Gen. Joseph Olu Bajowa who supported the church projects with a million naira.

The plenary session of the synod holds tomorrow while the thanksgiving service will come up on Sunday.
