The Palm Sunday is a special worship Sunday in Christiendom all over the world as it marks the celebration of the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, the place where he was to be crucified. Also known as Passion Sunday, it is the beginning of The Holy Week, the holiest week in Christendom in which Christians remember and observe the most intense moments of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the first Sunday during the year when the faithful listen together during worship to the full account of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In today’s sermon titled ‘SALVATION’ delivered by Pastor Babafemi Aiyela of First Baptist Church Ode Ajagba, while quoting from the book of Luke chapter 1 verse 69 ,the priest said celebrating the Palm Sunday symbolises the salvation of man by God through the sacrifice of his prized , precious and only begotten son , Jesus Christ, but he lamented that majority of Christians do not have the salvation , which passion is being celebrated in Christendom today.

While stressing the need for christians to have salvation which Christ offered on the cross, Pastor Aiyela noted that salvation goes beyond the annual observance of the passion Sunday and the passion week by christians .

He stressed that Salvation is a way of being restored or made new for the purpose of becoming saved, adding that salvation only comes from God , hence the need for all christians to embrace the grace offered through salvation.
