The people of Ayeka kingdom will tonight commence the celebration of Iwo festival with a vigil at the Ogwa, as the full swing festivity is to be marked tomorrow with the town on a lockdown until much later in the afternoon.

The annual Iwo festival, one of the major traditional festivity in Ayeka kingdom begins tonight.
The festival which has been celebrated from time immemorial in Ayeka kingdom is a celebration which connects the deities and the ancestral spirit of the land with the living In a unique way.
Lisa of Ayeka kingdom and Oloja of Ugbe Ayeka, His Highness Michael Babatunde Ayejowa who spoke with Awawa FM at the palace of the Lumure of Ayeka earlier today advised the people of Ayeka to celebrate Iwo festival peacefully, while praying for the development of Ayeka and its environ.
The Chief celebrant, Regent of Ayeka kingdom, Princess Oluyemi Bajowa while speaking with Awawa FM reporter, Steve Ovirih, offered prayers of the royal stool for Ayeka kingdom.
Tonight, there will be a cultural procession from the palace of the Lumure of Ayeka to Ogwa where an all night traditional vigil will hold to herald Iwo festival which celebration holds full swing tomorrow.
In the course of the outing tomorrow, non-natives are required to stay indoor, as well as women, as the gods of the land will be on ground walking through the nooks and crannies of Ayeka kingdom.
