Today is World Chess Day. The Day came into reckoning in 1924 and it is celebrated globally every 20th July.
International Chess day commemorates the importance of Chess as a Boardgame on a national and international level.
In a chat with a Chess Enthusiast and Player, Mr Ojo Aderemi, he described Chess as an abstract and a strategic game of two players on a chess board.
Ojo Aderemi further described the boardgame as an ancient, intellectual and cultural game which is a combination of sport, scientific thinking and elements of art.
The Chess Prodigy in an exclusive chat with Awawa FM’s Ayodele Aduwo advised the Federal and State Government to invest in the brain developing indoor sport and maximize the advantages in the game , adding that govt should incorporate Chess game into school curriculum, as it has the chance of boosting mental acuity among students.
